Welcome to Lesson #5: Christianity and The Civil War

danv

I hope you are having a nice week so far - it's good to be back with you.

In this fifth session, we turn to the Civil War. We'll begin first by talking a little bit about African American religion. It's important to see the impact and effects of the long, rich history of the African American Christian tradition - we might immediately think of the church father, St. Augustine in North Africa.

But when we look at those slaves that came to the new world, we want to remember that African tribal religion remained part of the Christian package.

As always, please reach out if you have any questions!
